Summer Update

Sun Jul 20, 2008, 9:34 PM
Wow, I've been out of school for already more than a month now. It's too scary that time goes so fast. D: Nothing entirely much has happened, and frankly I don't mind too much. *nods* At least my brain's getting the vacation it deserves.
..Well, nothing's happened, if you don't count the three birthday parties I've been to, including my own. >>
The video game blog thingy idea scattered away pretty quickly. I can rant about games so much to some of my friends...but on the internet, I'm not so sure. I can't really formalize it, so I suppose I'll just let the rants come naturally. Kinda like this:

I've been playing too many games lately. I am pretty burnt out. I have finally finished FFXII and Persona 3 though. Those no longer will bother me by collecting dust. But there's still more to go..
I borrowed Radiata Stories (PS2) from my friend a few months ago, and played about an hour and a half on that game before dying without saving..haven't played it since. It has a kinda refreshing comical feel to it, if I remember correctly. Perhaps I'll pick that up next. I need something to rest my right hand, which is kinda sore from: roughhousing, Guitar Hero/Rock Band, and perhaps most of all, Trauma Center: Under the Knife for the DS. =D I love it. It's a similar feeling to when I first picked up Phoenix Wright. This game super-simplifies advanced medical surgery (like what Phoenix Wright does with law XD), and makes it possible to be done with a touch screen and a stylus. (-Spoilers Ahead-)

It can sound pretty chessy at first, but this game is intense. No joke. D: The first operation is easy, you just have to take out small shards of glass out of this guy's..leg? No, I think it was in his abdomen. After which you sew up the guy's cuts, treat the small boo-boos, and then you stitch him back up. No big deal XD. But 6 or 7 surgeries later..holy crap. D: You have to treat..like, live parasites that are cutting the patient's insides all over as you try to kill it, tumors that multiply AND explode all over the place, all the while the patient is near death, and dies if you're not fast enough. Heck, there's this one mission where you have to diffuse a live bomb before it blows you to smithereens. A BOMB. WTF?! Aagh! *pulls out hair* I don't really envy this guy that much. That's just too much stress.

The missions do almost too good of a job keeping you on your toes, and the pressure can really build up, but that could be just how I play it. As a result, I'd usually tense up and often tire out my right hand. Like halfway through the last mission, I paused and noticed my hand twitching pretty bad. O_o Luckily, I was able to get through the first game today, so I'm going to put down the DS stylus for a bit.
As for art, I've been a bit preoccupied with other drawing requests as well as this birthday present I drew a friend of mine, so I haven't been keeping up so much as far as my own work is concerned. Video games have been contributing to that too. Just a big nasty distraction that also cripples my right hand at the same time. XD At least I saved many, many patients. Plus I rocked out in Rock Band.

I'll try uploading something I've been working on soon. I just gotta motivate myself to plug in that tablet and finish it.
I guess on an ending note I'll say that the Batman movie that recently came out is pretty darn awesome. It's too bad that the guy that played the Joker died in the middle of making the film. He played that character flawlessly.

Guess that's about it. Keep enjoying your summer guys.
